What size was the silicone blade that you got for the W124? I found that the 24" Bosch Micro Edge Excel won't work for me - the mounting clip is in the center (it's a bit offset on the OEM blade) and the tip of the wiper would hit the gasket at the side and top of the windshield. |

24" carbon fibre with black blade, it seemed to work pretty good. I do however like the bosch locking system a little better, but it wont work on the silblades. But the Silblades wipe much better.

The 24" Bosch blade I bought for my w124 was actually a little SHORTER than the OEM MB blade that was on it before. It fits perfectly and snaps right in. Still, the locking sys is not as good as the OEM, but still fine.

The discrepancies with these W124 wiper blades is because somewhere along the line, MB modified the wiper arm and made it shorter. The new arm still takes a 24" blade but with the clip located more to the center.

Range Rover 1991 Range Rover Hunter (only one with cloth seats), thats what the lady wanted, so she ordered it with a sunroof. I had 120,000 miles as of 1994, the lady drove from san diego to Los Angeles almost every day. We bought it, not it has almost 200,000 miles on it. At 160,000 miles we rolled in new main and rod bearing from underneith the car, and that sure made a difference along with new injectors. You should try it.

I've been buying Bosch 24 inch blades for years but as of the last year or so they stopped selling the inserts. I found my last batch at the clearance pile and I bought them all. Now I am looking at buying the entire wiper arm and blade in order to get the blade. I don't want to do that everytime I need to change the blade! Do you guys see the same thing happening out there or is it just me? I've looked everywhere I go for just 24 inch blade inserts and save for some cheapo brands everybody is selling entire wiper assemblies now. Can't justify buying that twice a year.

It is because Americans as a whole are so lazy.
Buy the silblade it lasts 5 years guaranteed. And I know this first hand.

The Bosch wiper blade inserts are available from Fastlane, they're $9 each I think.

Mono Blade
You know what is really cool is that at a stop light with the mono wiper on high, it slightly shakes the entire car and slings water on people at the bus stop.
