1979 450 sl
I have 1979 450 sl. I am a novice at turning wrenches; but find satisfaction in accomplishing tasks myself. Here is my problem. I bought this car from a party who had it sitting in a garage for 8 years. I removed the fuel tank and cleaned it out. I replaced, with OEM parts, the fuel pump, fuel filter, tank fuel screen and all hoses. I have fuel to what I would call the fuel distributor where a carb would normally be. But; my car won't start or run still. If I put a little fuel in the air intake of the throttle body, it will start and run until it uses that fuel. I am convinced I am not getting fuel into the cylinders, yet I have fuel going to the lines which feed the injectors. HELP!!!!

Sounds like the injectors are stuck shut and you'll probaly end up replacing the fuel head, cold start valve and warm up regulator as well. 8 year old fuel is kinda ugly stuff.
