Unhappy Suspension leak

Hello All, I am a newbee so please bear with me, We have a 91 300 TE 4matic. It runs very well but the problem I am having is that the car leaks hydraulic fluid onto the exaust system and does an impression of a crop duster. I spent time under the car tonight and found that the leak seems to be coming from the rubber hoses at the end of the tranny. These suspect hoses seem to connect from the tranny to the hydraulic valve that controls the self leveling suspension. I am an MG person and am not used to all these new fangled systems, but I do know all about leaks! Anyway, has anyone out there in M-B land ever experenced this? If I can't fix this my wife is going to make me buy a Suburban!! Help!!

I am not familiar with the 300td suspension, however, I believe it is similar to mine in a 560. THere is a resivoir in the front and to lines on in one out. the pump is on the block on my car but yours may well be belt driven they had two versions I believe. The lines on my suspension are all metal and go back to the accumulators then to the shocks. I can't imagine yours being much different. What colour is the fluid?

The fluid is definitly hydraulic fluid , When we got the car the tank was empty and our problems started when fluid was added. I don't know about the accumulators, my leak seems to be coming from the rubber hoses attached to the transfer case. I was told today that the hose set was $350. ouch. Does your car have a 4matic system? I am wondering if the two systems are interconnected. Too bad there is no good ol' Haynes Manual for this car!

Ah. I am really not sure on your model. My suspension is completely seperate from the tranny or the transfercase (I do not have a 4matic). But the mercedes shop manual is well worth it for @$140 or you can get a pirated version on ebay.
