I want to replace the climate control unit on a 91 126 300 SEL. Not too much feedback on my last post, but narrowed down my problem to the climate control head unit. Can anyone please describe the proper steps to remove this unit ?

Tell me if I'm close:
-Ashtray (2 screws)
- Radio face plate
- Radio - (what tool do I need - I've read about several)
- Veneer panel (2 screws on bottom - then pulls out???)

Anything else?

Anything I should know about purchasing a replacement?
