in car heater core fix?
Hi all,
Well, it seems I have a slight leak in my heater core. My car is an 86 300 sdl. Does any one know of a fix that can be done without dis-assembling the entire car to get at the heater core? I'm thinking something like a circulating pump set up just in the heater circuit (circuit disconnected from main system) with stop-leak and pressure. Isolating it from the rest of the engine cooling system until the leak is fixed, then flushing and re-connecting to the rest of the system. Any thoughts? Thanks, Ygmir |

Intercept the lines going from the engine compartment to the heater core. Attach a tube from one end to the other and by-pass the heater core entirely.

you mean as in disconnect the core from the rest of the engine?
That is my thought, and then find a product or technique to treat just the core for leaks, then re-attach to the system, so I can still have heat....... Thanks, Ygmir |
