some of the time when I take my foot off the gas of my '92 400e it starts to speed up on its own. The rpms increase by a few hundred but I can stop it by touching the brake.
the second problem I have is a grinding noise from the right front wheel during low speed stopping, not all the time, just sometimes. Any thoughts?

It sounds like the cruise control is coming on by itself. Have this checked ASAP. It may do it when you are not expecting it.

Does the cruise switch feel funny? If so, have it repaired ASAP!! Also, some of the throttle actuators are showing problems now, you may want to take this to a dealer for inspection.
