When I turn on the foglights on my 93 500E the dashboard warning light comes on, and it will go off when the foglights are turned off. All the lights work - verified by two shops (i guess because I don't know what turned on lights look like:rolleyes :)
One mechanis said he thought it might be a short somewhere. Any ideas or similar experience with this situation? If there is a short - what is the best way to trace the short? Thanks for your help. |
Two different wattage bulbs will cause this. Also you have ONE fog light in the rear if you have two clicks on the pull of the switch. If the rear fog light is not working, there is your problem.

Thanks. I will look at the wattage of the bulbs. I purchased replacement lenses for the fog lights from the parts shop so it should be easy to check the bulbs. I know that the rear fog lights work - and I will make sure.

Does anybody know why in the rear, the fog light only shines on 1 side? Is there some story behind it???

So that in heavy fog you know where the outside of car is, so that w/passing on autobahn at 150 you don't have to slow down.
