Help Benzmac or someone with Tech Data!!

I need to know how much a 560 M117 engine weighs as well as the tranny. A freight company claims my crate weighed 1018 lbs with those 2 items and 4 16" wheels that weighed 17lbs each!! I originally estimated the crate would weigh 600lbs or so. I may have been off a bit but 1000lbs for an aluminum engine and tranny??? Somebody please help if you have the info, I would really appreciate it. I would like to show them official MB specs on the weights. Maybe its in a Tech Data Manual??
Thanks Again- Mike

I don't know for certain but 950 for an engine and tranny doesn't seem absurd. The whole car probably weighs 4500lbs. Although aluminum, that engine is pretty big.

Well, "The Complete Handbook of Automotive Power Trains," states the motor weighs 452 lbs. A tranny with torque converter and fluid probably weighs around 200-220lbs, and that's being pretty generous. I'll put it this way, I was able to push/slide the crate myself on the ground. I don't think my 175lb frame would be able to budge 1018lbs... An iron block 5.7 chevy motor weighs about 550lbs so it can't be more than that.

Shipping weight of a NEW crated engine shows to be 230Kg.
The trans is 58KG, & the converter is 12 Kg.

300Kg is 660 lbs.
