CE Light Self-Reset
I've searched the posts but I'm wondering if someone has the ACTUAL specs on the EXACT conditions that the CE light will reset itself after a condition has been corrected. I.e., what are the minimum miles for a trip to count, # of key cycles, etc.
I got a CE light about a month ago and discovered that one of the plastic vacuum hoses in front of the engine was disconnected. I drive mostly 5 mile trips back and forth to work although I've had maybe 10 trips of over 20 miles since the CE light came on and the hose was reconnected. I will get the code reset if it doesn't go off soon, but I thought (kind of a test actually) it would be nice if the car figured it was ok by itself. |
If my CE light doesn't reset after several trips I disconnect the battery and wait a minute or two and then re-connect it. Be sure to have your correct radio code before you do this. Good Luck!
