Auto problem

Hi there, I have a 69 250 with a 4 speed auto. Problem is when you put it in gear it stalls the motor, when you do get going with some fancy foot work on the pedals the gears don't change up until higher revs even when accelerating ligthly. Do I have a vacuum problem or pump problem or something else. Thanks, Stu

Could be your torque convertor?
