I need to replace the AC condersor on my wife's 87 300E. I had some freon added and the system worked for a short while before leaking through the condensor. Can the condersor be removed from the front or do I have to remove the radiator? (The posts I have read about the AC in this car have been scary)

It is a much easier job to remove the condenser w/o the radiator and fan in the picture. It has to come out of the radiator support thru the hole usually occupied by the radiator.
