Question Hydraulic Lifter Adjustment (HLC) 380 SEC

Hi,
I would like some information on adjusting the HLC units in my 1983 380 116.963 V-8. I am rebuilding the motor and will install 16 new HLC units, thrust shims and rockers. (I bought the tool for measuring the thickness of the thrust washers)
My question is:
Do the new HLC units need to be pumped up with oil from the engine rotating or are they pumped up at the factory when assembled?
I have the engine out of the car on a stand so I can't spin it fast enough for the oil pump to pump oil through the engine. I read several posts on this subject but didn't find anything about my question. The manual states to rotate the engine for 30 seconds before measuring.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob
