Shock noise
 

I have a major increase in noise in my front shocks when the temp. drops. Is this typical for a 300TD? or do I have a problem?

I have a 93 300sl that is making a loud rattling/bumping noise from the right front area of the car (especially in cold weather). Had it checked out and the rubber around the front right side shock mount has cracked and seems to be causing the noise. Have not replaced yet to see if it actually resolves it.

Mine makes noise too, but only when the car is cold, once it warms, the noise goes away (but it doesn't get that cold here.) I think it coud be the shocks or maybe the tires.

I had my mech replace the passenger side shock mount on my '93 300sl and that eliminated the rattling noise I was hearing. It cost $250 (P and L).
