I figure they're gonna be Depo or TYC lights, I'd ideally like to go for hella or Bosch but my wife wont let me spend that much...

For what its worth, I put the Bosch in my 300E and they are spectacular! I put Depo's in my Expedition and they are just as bad as the OEM lights. Go with the quality Hella's or Bosch, you won't be sorry.

Lights

I purchaced the clear corner lights from ebay (different seller) that are like the ones displayed for $28 incl. shipping. They are not OEM and you can tell by weight and construction. However, you couldn't tell from OEM without close inspection. Had them on for about 8 mo. So far so good - and kept the OEM just in case

I bought the Hella set and its great too!!

Some people who have compared both Hella and Bosch say that the Bosch are better in some ways but generally speaking they are both great

Go for either one of those, you won't regret. Besides, there's not significant difference between the prices of these and those depo or whatever they are called

I have just got my car back from the bodyshop. I have depo on one side and bosch on the other. You can't tell the difference unless you pop the hood and look at the plastic backing. Go with what ever you are comfortable with.

Before I purchased mine, did a search and read everything on this forum about euros. Consensus is that Bosch and Hella are the best, but also cost more. A lot of people have gone with Depos and say thay are fine. Haven't heard anything good about TYC. Something about quality not as good, and with Depos being about the same price, might as well get Depos.

Of your two auctions, the lower priced one includes the six-pin plugs and wire for city light hookup. Ask the fellow what brand lights they are. If Depo, and you cannot talk your wife into Bosch or Hella, go ahead and get them. They will be much, much better than oem. Ask about printed installation instructions. In absence of that, just check the past posts on this forum.

I have a set of W124 Hella Euro Headlights available for $175 plus shipping. They will work on any W124 E-Class from 1986-1995. You just buy the lenses for your year and they clip right on. Here is the link

dont buy from this guy.

I recently purchased a pair of DEPO lights from this "gentleman" The side lights did not fit but the lamp quality was OK (DEPO) Would have been nice if he called me back...........
The seller of the complete kit has good feedback.

I see you left him negative feedback too. I hate it when eBay sellers don't answer my e-mails.

Here are some pictures of a DEPO and a BOSCH euro headlight. The only difference I could find are the Bosch main reflector has a built in spirit level and the main vacuum diaphram for the light adjust is a smaller newer type. The DEPO light has the older vacuum adjust diaphram but actually uses thicker electrical wires and has no built in spirit level. The weight difference that people talk about between the two is from the lenses. The original Bosch lens is heavier. The metal locks on the DEPO cover are made of cheaper aluminum but they work just as well and fit just as tight. The lights you see here will be on sale soon.
I also have a smashed Bosch right side euro headlight. If someone once to cannabalize whats left of it I'll post pictures and prices later. It still has a vacuum adjuster diaphram piece in it.
Hope the pictures help someone make a decision.

The reason you see two DEPO boxes is that one of the DEPOS is currently on my car

Internal Organs:
Note the spirit level and the plastic bulb holder of the main lamp for the bosch on the left. This Bosch light is from a 94 W124. I changed the lens

The above pictures have been resized I can send someone the full sized version if they want to take a clearer look.
All in all the quality of the DEPO lights is impressive. Like replica wheels from a good company they manage to replicate the OEM design, finish and quality well. If you did not get a bonus last year they are the way to go Either way both lights pictured make the stock US lights look rather pathetic.
