Messerschmit upside down V12 in Star magazines
Hey,
Can any of you guys scan the magazine article? My friend needs a picture of the motor to paint a model. edit: post 1700

Hello Omegabenz!
Do a search on Google about the "DB 603" or the "DB 605". This will provide you with tons of information. These engines were entirely satin gloss black. Only the injection pump and the main fuel pump are in aluminum color as some small parts. Do yourself a pleassure with this search : it is realy a fascinating engine of an incredible original construction and beauty !! Danny

Hello again Omegabenz !
I remember I found the article of the Star magazine by Google. It was on an American website. I printed it out and translated it in Dutch for my mechanic. He is very interested and if we can lay hands on one ( I know of at least one DB 605-A in Belgium ) , we will try to overhaul it and make it running (NOT airworthy !) again. I gave the printout to him so as soon I'll be seeing him, I'll check out the website and mail you the address. Beautiful man. My mechanic too is really the one that wanted the information. But anything he wants done on computers, I do it for him. Ill pass this info along. Do you have a scan of the Star article or which one it's in? He has the Star, just he doesnt know which one it is.

Hello Omegabenz,
Received my CD with the sound of that inverted V 12 (ordered in the US). I can recommand it to your mechanic to. The least I can say is it's very impressive...to me as a former aircraft mechanic for 25 years. I am sure my mechanic will be impressed to ! Hope to see him this evening for that site with "The Star" article. I'll let you know... Danny

At last, omegabenz,
Got a long talk with my friend and mechanic yesterday. I even remembered to ask him about the Star Magazine article as I promised you. So here is the website where I read the entire article. The other sites will show you some realy good pictures from the engine in original colors. That was original question, isn't it ? The last site does the same but more : you'll see the engine we hope to lay hands on for the "overhaul" and hope to make it running again ! I can see this engine every day if I want to. So if it's necessary, I can take pictures of details and mail them to you if you want to.
