Question on drive shaft balance weight

I just developed a bad vibration problem, and this weekend I plan to check motor and tranny mounts. But I noticed from some the the posts that "drive shaft balance weights" were mentioned several times for this problem. Can somene tell me where I can find these balance weights and what a healthy balance weight should look like.

Thanks

Steven,
They look like small square or rectangular metal plates mostly less than a square inch in surface and less than 1/8" thick welded to the drive shaft.
Those I have seen were always at the extreme ends.
Needless to say (re)balancing the shaft is specialist's work.
Check the flex couplings first and the bearing+mount in the middle of it.
Danny
