lubricating hood latches and hinges

Stu Ritter's Technical Tips column in the current Star says the interval for lubricating the hood latch and hinges has been changed from 15K to 7.5K miles. What type of lubricant should be used?

I use spray lithium grease for that sort of thing.

Convenient, and seems to hold up very well.

I've been using the infamous sunroof rail grease.

I use lithium grease on all the hinges and latches aswell as the throttle links and shafts, and around the fan clutch. so far its done a good job.
