Hi - My merc is a 1991 260E.
I have noticed that when I'm doing about 110-120 mph, there is a sort of resistance with a loud humming from the auto gearbox. Any ideas as to what it could be and how to overcome this? Thank you for your replies.

Hi Jeff,
The resistance I mean is like when you've reached the top end of your power band. The engine seems like it can't pull anymore.
