sunroof failure

when i tried to open my sunroof on a 98 w210 E class, it rolled back about 3 inches, thenstopped. When trying to open the roof all i got was a constant clicking noise. After i closed the roof and tried to roll it back again, still the same problem. I also tried resetting the sunroof but no luck there. Then this morning i tried to open the roof again but nothing happened. It is totally stuck and just a single click is heard like a relay after trying to open the roof. The roof will not go up either.

Any ideas, as i cant afford to repair the sun roof.

Sounds like it could be mis-adjusted, or it needs a good cleaning and lubrication. The clicking could be the sunroof clutch motor.

Best Regards,
Jim
