Is Dexron III Ok for my 94 E-420 Tranny?? I'm confused?
I need advice for my tranny fluid. I have been told that Dexron III is ok for it, but dexron is red and when I check the level my fluid look honey colored. I'm on the low mark, does that mean I need to add 1 pint?

Check your dealership to make sure.
In 1994 and up, Mercedes changed their transmission fluid. If your car is electronic transmission, you need a special transmission fluid. Since you said that your transmission fluid is honey color. It should new style transmission fluid. If your car is not electronic transmission, it is Dexron III. |

The '94 E320 is equipped with the 722.3 AT... use Dexron III ATF.
When fresh, your transmission's ATF should be red in color. Honey-colored ATF warrants a fluid and filter change. Transmission fluid level is temperature dependent; check your owner's manual for the proper procedure of checking ATF level. |
