how do you replace the plug wires? do you just unplug the old and plug the new?

you got it. If the plastic that holds the wires together (loom) is not sticking together too well try some electrical tape.
I replaced my wires with Magnecors and have been very very happy.

I don't replace the factory wires unless they are phisically damaged. The wires are solid core and don't go bad. The only thing that goes wrong with them is the resistor ends. These are sold separately and screw off with some work and some spray silicone.
