96 E300 turn signal malfunction

Hi All,
Just went through 16 pages of search on turn signal and none really addressed the problem on the 96 E300, which is an intermitantly working right turn signal. Left side is no problem and sometimes the right works, sometimes it doesn't. Is there a relay that could be the problem? I've looked in the engine compartment fuse box, under the dash and under the rear seat. Or, is it just the turn signal switch that's going bad? I'd like to get this hazard taken care of as soon as possible.
Thanks for any help,
Matt

The switch is a very common failure for that problem, we change more than 1 per week. MB number 210-540-01-44(-27).

Thanks M.B. Doc, yeah, I'm in the middle of replacing it now. I thought I had the 10 mm allen socket..... so I guess I'll finish it tomorrow.

The lastest STAR has an article with pictures that covers the whole change procedure. Sounds like there needs to be a recall, with as much as this seems to be happening and an article in the STAR on how to do it

Come to think of it, I've owned quite a few cars and don't remember too many of them needing a complete turn signal switch replaced. On the other hand, not too many would have made it to this many miles(120K, practically new) and still run and look this good either! Give and take? I didn't get to that 10mm bolt today, tomorrow, for sure, and I'll check out that article to make sure I did it right.

Well, mission accomplished! Only one day behind schedule, and it did take an extra body to get that darn 10mm allen bolt off. All's well that ends well. Thanks for the help.

What I was refering to was the fact that there were two different posts, on the fourm, about the turn signal problem plus the fact that there was a detailed DIY in the STAR. I figured this must be a common problem.

Thats what I interpreted it to mean as well. BTW, I now have the SRS light continually lit so I'll probably end up doing a search for that to see what the solution is.
