Testing and Cleaning Injectors?

.I have a 74 450SEL with 258K miles. I've only owned it a short time. It's down on power. Sometimes it runs o.k.-other times it misses.. I'm going to check out the secondary ign. system-plug wires etc.
I've run Techron in the tank- but is there an easy way to tell how an injector is flowing? Is there a way to test or clean them thoroughly if I took them out? New ones are so expensive, I don't want to just go throw parts at the car. Junkyd. injectors are available for next to nothing, but still- how to determine if they are good?
