Optima Battery

I would like to know which optima battery I should use for my car. I have a sound system and I want a battery that will last. I have a 93 190E 2.6. I know I should go yellow top but I'm not sure on the model #.

Thanks, Chris

Optima does not make a battery that is a direct fit for the W201, the Optimas don't have recessed posts and are taller than the stock W201 battery. Your best bet is to measure your battery and then take those measurements and compare them to the available Optimas, I know the red top will work but you need to make sure that the top posts won't impact the hood when closed and you would also need to get some battery terminal covers so nothing comes in contact with the positive/negative posts of the battery.

I don't know if our battery trays are the same but the red top fits well in my 300E.

Thanks for the input guys. Got the optima installed and it fits fine. Just had to get a longer ground cable

Red top is the starting battery; yellow is for deep cycle (for loud stereo types) - go to their website to confirm but I think you need the red top. They used to make an orange top (reversed terminals) but now it's just a model 24(?)R - a red top with reversed terminals. I have red tops in my W210 and 98 Passat neither of which should fit according to Optima.
