exterior light indicator

I have a 1990 300E and my exterior light indicator stays on constantly. My mechanic says that all of my exterior bulbs are fine.
What would you recommend that I check next, that may be causing the indicator light to remain on.

I would recheck ALL the bulbs to make sure they are working. I have found often one of the rear side lights would be out. It is hard to tell if the bulb is bad in that position. Also, check the third brake light. You need to also make sure that the correct "german" bulbs are being used. The wrong bulbs can cause problems.

I agree, the lights on the "sides" of the rear lamp units are often overlooked, as are the license plate lamps, make sure they BOTH work.

A different wattage bulb left and right for the same function will put on your warning light to!
