oil filters revisited

i was looking into oil filter prices for s-class today.the cartridge type that go inside an oil filter holder(sorry, the correct words escape me right now)
anyways, the prices at partsshop are for three different manufactures and of course three different prices yet they all look the same.i've used the mann and hengst but not the bosch.are they(bosch) worth the almost double price?
here's part # A6000-65694
thanks:confused:

Not in my opinion, I bought one of each and the Bosch came with the wrong size drain plug washer and I had to use one from another filter. The mann and hengst are fine. I think Bosch is overextending itself getting into all sort of automotive parts and home appliances etc. It should stick to automotive elctrical components and systems.

The Bosch filters are cheap parts made in India.

Mann filters are your best bet. Get the one that used for extended period oil changes. I forget the part number, but i've had great luck with them.

After checking further, looks like the best filter for your S500 is a German made Knecht filter # MB012550, which can still be had for $8 at most online parts stores.Let me know if you would like the name of the place that has them in stock. Jeff
