Cracked EHA Valve

I just found the root of all my problems to be a cracked eha valve. These run about 200 bucks, and I wanted to know if anyone has just repaired one on their own. It's a hairling crack. Can I just epoxy it? Or should I bite the bullet and buy a new one?

The EHA does have seals. Make sure that isn't the problem. See the following URL:

The seals are looking great. The leak was coming out of a crack. I decided to buy the part after talking to my mechanic friend.

If it leaks internally or is cracked, it's toast.

Replacement is the only option.

Easy DIY

Larz,

It took me no more than 15 minutes to replace mine. Remove the air filter, disconnect the EHA wire connection, unscrew two alen screws, remove old EHA, replace 2 green o-rings, screw in new EHA - don't over tighten, reconnect the wires, reinstall the air filter.

Replace the EHA

I put off replacing my leaking EHA for two years. When I finally did replace it I was pleased to discover my hesitation problem and two-try starting problem also fixed.

My point is that replacing the EHA may fix more than the fuel leak so forking out the $ is not quite as painful.

I think you missed my point, guy. Removal and replacement is easy enough to do in my sleep. I was asking if it could be epoxyed. But I decided to fork out the cash and order one.

Of missing points and Napalm!

Yes I did miss your point, but realized it after clicking the "Submit Reply" button. You were trying to fix the EHA as opposed to replacing it. Sorry about that.

John,

You put up with a leaky EHA for two years? You must “Love the smell of Napalm in the morning.” It does smell like victory.
;)

God that smell kills me. I assume you're military from the avatar. I'm a marine. I guess that explains why I'm driving an 89 instead of a 2004. :D
