Car won't start at all

Hello hello :)
I've been having more trouble with my 94 E320. So far in 3 months I've had to replace a coolant, but now I think there might be a bigger problem. Basically everything started happening last night, I tried to start the car, but it wouldn't. It made the vroom-vroom-vroom sound. On some of the tries, I had the key turned for a pretty long time, maybe 10-15 s, trying to get it to start. Eventually, after pressing the gas pedal, the engine did start. Fast forward to today, I tried to start it, but instead of that vroom sound, I got a click and some real nice silence. I thought i used all the power yesterday, so I tried a jump, nothin happened. :( I'm probably askin an impossible question, but what would you guys think is wrong? Did I damage any parts by trying to crank it for such a long period of time? thanks for help:confused:

EDIT: Correction: the starters clicking, but not spinning or anything.

I don't think you have done any damages.
The same thing happened to my car last week.
All winter long, at temp. down to -40deg. the car always started like it was 75deg., no ever turning 1/4 of a turn on the starter before it fired.
Last week, on a nice balmy morning (32Fdeg), it barely started, being very slow to turn on the starter.
The next day, even warmer weather (35degF), all I had was a faint "click".
A new battery solved the problem.

Has your car sat for a long time? It sounds like today your battery is drained and will need a charge. Jumper cables don't always work that well depending on the guage of the cable and how you hook them up.

It sounds like yesterday your car took a while to get fuel or the fuel was bad. Again if your car sat for a long time or it's very cold, it might take more time to start the car.

I would charge the battery, start it and drive/run it for awhile. Put it away with a full tank of gas.

the car is my daily driver and the gas tank is already about 1/2 empty. The temperature was around 60s yesterday and 40s when I tried to start it this morning. I'll try charging for sure. Im praying it'll work:(

I took the battery to get checked by Autozone, and it was fine, so that elimnates that possibility. I checked closer and I'm hearing buzzing sound coming from the engine compartment when I turn the key.

Starter (solonoid)is gone.

If the solonoid is separate you can just replace
it,but if it is intergrated you'll need to replace
the whole starter.

Yes,you can fry the starter if you don't let it
cool inbetween tries.

Louis.
