Also check your fuel tank screen. It could be clogged with age and or algea.

" it lost power and then died" Your car had difficulty getting fuel. What was the condition of the 2 fuel filters you replaced??? Do a search on algae and fuel tank screen replacement. There is a post on a 123 fuel screen replacement. Your SD will be about the same. You should check your screen to ensure that your fuel delivery system has been completely checked.
If the car is starting without any problems, the glow plug system may be fine.
