I have a few questions about problems in my car mostly electrical. The reverse lights on the car do not work ever since I had a new transmission put in. I just adjusted the switch on the transmission and they still do not come on, the fuse is not blown out either. Do you know what else it could be. The yellow light on the instrument panel for the gas gauge does not work although i have replced the bulb twice it still does not work. The Fasten Seatbelt randomly comes on while driving. The clock also looses time. Last summer i repleced the whole instrument panel and yet these problems still plague me.

Sounds like we've had the same car...
If the clock is losing time and the seat-belt warning buzzer is coming on randomly, the problem is likely to be the voltage regulator (and maybe a bad battery also). New regulator can be bought for $40 at NAPA. Bosche is higher... check parts shop for regulator VS re-manufactured alternator it may be cheaper in the long run to get new alternator. Have you replaced the fuse(s) for the back up lights and the low fuel warning light? The problem could be simple... what have you definately eliminated as a possibility? ------------------ William 76 240D (W115) - 550K miles 78 300D (W123) - 200K+ miles |
