A/C Pressure Sensor, 96 C280

I,m still trying to get my AC system back in order after having the compressor and drier replaced. Can,t find anything about this in the forum so here goes. The compressor was only coming on intermittently at first, now hardly at all. Using the actual value (code #7) available at the climate control (CC) display, I can see when the value from the pressure sensor output is correct(and the compressor is on). When it is malfunctioning the display shows "CLO" and the compressor stays off. Sooo...I decided to check the pressure sensor. With the sensor connected normally, found with key in position two, Volts in (from CC module) 7.5V, should be 5V. Volts out 2.0, normal. Then after starting engine Volts in, 8.8V and volts out 6.6V.The spec for the Vout is 0 to 5V so when it goes over 5V the compressor won't turn on and "CLO" appears in the display. Most obvious concern is ~8V from CC should be 5. Maybe a bad ground? Bad CC module? Could bad sensor cause this? Why would volts out go from normal to over limit just by starting the engine(the compressor isn't turning). My indy said there aren't any codes. Oh me oh my...
Thanks for any help
