putting LEDS in place of dash lights in w126
 

anyone know what type of LEDs fit , if I need to change the sockets, and where to find the neccesary info/parts? Just thought it would look cool to get rid of those dim yellowish lights in the dashboard and center console and replace them with either blue/red LEDs

LED's have a rather monochromatic spectrum, and the eye tends to find that unpleasant when used as general illumination. That is fine for a warning light, of course. White LED's use a secondary flourescent phosphor, stimulated by a blue or UV LED. This is broader specrum, but I doubt if that is the effect you want.
