'SMOG' sign stays on
Fella's,
Don't know if climatecontrol systems on US MB's have this, but the 'SMOG'-sign on my climate control display stays on permanently when I activate the carbon filter. I don't live in a city centre... Any idea what could be wrong? THANKS

ON USA version cars the SMOG display in the A/C controller is programmed to stay OFF.
That can be done on many 1996 & later cars! YOUR charcoal filters may need replacement. How many miles(km) are on the car? MB suggests replacement after 120,000 miles OR 200,000km.

As before, thanks MBDOC,
Car has just done 200K Km's. Will check the filter, have noticed some threads on how to do this (glove box). However: you write carbon filterS, but I understood there's only ONE carbon filter, perhaps you're also referring to the other, dust filter in the footwell? Cheers!
