Do we still need to lub the chassis

i used to lub the chassis and balljoints for my 80s cars do we still need this for nowadays Mercedes?

No, because there's no grease fittings on the joints. They are considered lubed-for-life.... not that designs have improved so much as the fact that it's a cost saving measure for the manufacturer.

is thee not a location where you can insert a nipple ie.knock a plug off ans screw in a nipple.i seem to remember doing this to a car of mine many years ago.i agree 'lube for life' is to the manufacturers and aftermarket makers benefit.

On some cars, yes, there's a plug that you remove and screw in a grease fitting so you can lube. On most cars there's nothing, so you simply can't service it. Some people have even had the idea of drilling and tapping a hole to accept a fitting. This is something I strongly advise against.
