Pn 124 540 7409?

OK what is cable 124 540 7409??

In the process of removing badly installed cell phone and alarm siren I've got access to the brake switch. This is the 4 pin switch. There are two connectors on the switch, and I believe everything works correctly (but I havent been driving the car yet and havent checked out the snow chain switch). The above part number is on a wiring harness and it is close to a connector that looks identical to one of the connectors on the break switch and is not hooked to anything (and this is hanging right next to the brake switch)???

Car is 92 400E with ASR

Can someone check the part number which amy give a clue to what this is - or tell me what this connector is for?

Thanks in advance
Paul Moruzzi

Thanks M.B.DOC

Do you know why the brake lamp wiring harness would have a hanging connector? Is it for cars without ASR or possibly a different brake switch, or even a switch on a manual trans car (since I assume they use the same harness in all 124 body cars worldwide).

I haven't undone the connectors but it appears that the harness goes to a piggyback connector (one two pin connector plugging directly into another two pin connector) on one set of the switch contacts. This piggyback connector has a lead comming off that goes to the other two pin contacts on the brake switch - as well as another lead going to the mistery connector which is also a piggyback connector. This also has a lead that disapperas into a different part of the wiring harness.

Thanks for your help
Paul
