Headlight wiper blade replacement

92 300E- How do the old blades release so I can replace with new ones?

One one end of the blade, there should be a metal clip that you depress on each side to allow the rest of the blade to slide out.

Other blades have a cap on one end that you remove to get the blade to slide out.

Aftermarket replacement are all a bit different, but it should be close to either of those configurations.

Buy the complete blade and simply grab the old one and pull it out. Don't mess with refills. I'm not talking about the arm, only the blade, it snaps in place into the arm. You can change both of them in less than one minute.

Hope this helps,

True.

But I've inspected my blades and find that the originals have the car model embossed on the wiper assembly...at least my R129 and W124 do.

I like that for some weird reason, so I just retrofit new blades onto the assembly...

But that's just me. Get the Bosch assemblies for true OEM performance.

Ya know what? I was thinking WINDSHIELD wiper blades!

Forget everything I said....Larry is right.

I'm not sure the blades are sold without the complete assembly anyway...I could only get mine at the dealer due to the obvious weird length...

...$11...sheesh!

I simply took an old, but still healthy windshield wiper blade, cut it to length, and fit it in the holder. The headlights are less demanding of blades than the windshield. Cost - $0.
