Jammed Steering lock
I have a problem!
My wife's W123 300D now has the steering lock jammed in the lock position. At first I thought that it was the lock berrel at fault, but a locksmith said that is OK. (It had been replaced by PO) In the Haynes manual it says that if this is locked and cannot be freed, that one must remove the steering column and drill out the locking pin. I have the steering wheel off, the inst panel out, and all other things removed, except the ignition switch lock and ignition sw, connector. I cannot get the upper column free, because the lock cannot come out of the recess in the dash. Does anyone have any clue as to how this should come out, so that I can fix the steering lock. Do I need to remove the whole Bl00dy dash?
