Wiper arm removal on w126

This must rate as one of the all time dumb ones, but how do I get the wiper arms off of my w126? Not just the blades, but the entire arm. I need to fix the linkage, as the driver side blade no longer moves (the passenger side does... figures!)

Lift up the plastic cover at the base of the wiper. There is a nut under it and it may need to be tightened. You may need to put the hood into it's upright vertical position.

I recently replaced the wipers on my 300SE and I had to completely remove both arms to do the job. A PO had put the wrong size and type on the car.

Good info in post above.

Also be careful how far you extend the blade arm. If you pull it too far back the spring can snap in half and damage whoever/whatever it hits.

Thanks

Thanks.

I thought that the plastic lid had to come up and I really had to yank on it to get it to open.
