Sunroof, air deflector spring

My '85 300SD (w126) sunroof's air deflector no longer pops up. Roof opens and closes just fine. Is there a spring that broke and can be replaced? Is this DIY?

Or, for the $$ should I either not open the hatch or live with the increase in wind noise?
