fuel pump mystery

I just replaced the dash on my 86 Euro 500 SE but don't think? that that caused the problem (Iv'e learned over the years to belive in cowinidense when working on cars) any way job done and it won't start.

I have no power to either fuel pump. I pulled the relay jumped 30 and 87 still will not start still no power at the pumps. I bared the hot wires in the trunk that feed the pump and jumped them to postive pole on battery and it started right up.I then pulled the false firewall and bracket that holds the pump relay and all looks fine there .Any ideas?...........
