Hi, I have a 1985 300CD with a broken tachometer. I have decided to not repair the tach but was wondering if the cruise will operate if the tach does not? I don't want to buy a new cruise amplifier if it will not work without the tack being repaired first??

Cruise gets signal from speedometer, or at least I think it does on your car. At any rate, tach is not in the cruise control loop.
