I have a '82 300SD with 100k now in mint shape, but I have to option to get a '92 300D 2.5L with 75K. What should I do. does the 300d 2.5 have any cronic problems. This car is in mint condition inside and out and is priced accordingly. Has all service records and had all service done. I need to know more about this car and what kind of headaches it might give later on.

Air conditioning is a weak spot - evaporator, expansion valve, freon pressure switch on R/D and suction manifold are prone to leaking.

2.5 was a good car. You have to keep it up though. Many had timing chains and sprockets that had to be replaced by an updated one. Once done, all is well.

At what point did the updates come out. Is there a serial # break or anyway of knowing?
