We have just gotten a 1969 280 SE running. It had been garaged for 10 years. We were excited until about twenty feet out it felt like the transmission disengaged. We floor the gas and the engine just revs. Some suggest that it could be the old fluids, others suggest it is the chain and some say it is the transmission. Any advise would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Charlie

I'll bet a piston is stuck inside the case, or a seal has opened up. At any rate, don't horse it around. Get the pressures checked or get a diagnosis pronto, before it is damaged to the point of major repair.
