There is a guy at work who states that Mercedes are not that great because he knows a buddy of his who had his head gasket blow between 60-80,000 miles on his 190 E (probably mid 80s model). Was there a lemon engine or could this have happened due to poor maintenance?
I never heard of a lemon engine other than the 350 diesel, so I was just wondering if you could give me feedback so I can shut this guy up , he he Was there any significant problems with the 190s? ------------------ '89 420 SEL '90 300 SEL '68 Olds 88 Convertible '84 300 SD (sold it) |
Any engine can have a headgasket problem, the 2.3 & 2.6 engines are very simular & neither one blows head gaskets often. The M103 engine sometimes can spout a oil leak but blown gaskets usually come from overheating.
