The Driveway Mechanic section on the Mercedes-Benz Club of America website has a really useful description of upgrading W124 headlights.

I replaced my 260e's US-spec lights with Euros earlier this year and the difference in brightness and road coverage is tremendous. Adding good quality faux "Xenon" hyper-white bulbs (Eurolite), made it profound. They are incredibly strong.
Also, the car looks sleeker, sportier and newer with the Euros, particularly with the smoke/silver In.Pro blinkers I added to replace the amber ones. Undoubtedly the best $500.00 I have spent on this car. Eric Silver |
I visited a "wrecking yard" in Hamburg this morning and was offered used Euro lights for a 124 for 180 Marks each, 360 for the pair. They did not take plastic or American money, I did not have time to get any DMarks and get back by there.
I plan on seeing what I can do about ordering them by EMail and see what the shipping costs are. I will keep everyone posted. ------------------ Larry Bible '84 Euro 240D, 523K miles '88 300E 5 Speed '81 300D Daughter's Car Over 800,000 miles in Mercedes automobiles |
