M103 throttle cable
Hi
I wonder if you can help. I had a throttle cable failure last week. However the cable has not snapped. The rubber block at the end of the cable that fits onto the throttle has perished and it popped out! The rubber block is available seperately and I have ordered it, but how can I put it on? Do I have to stretch it over the metal end of the cable?? Can I do this without damaging the cable/rubber block or do I have to remove the whole cable. Thanks for any advice Regards |
Remove the old pieces (use a wire cutters)
Put the new grommet onto the throttle cable (there is a split in the new plastic grommet to allow this). The wide edge of the new grommet should be facing the end of the cable. Pass the throttle cable wire through the groove in the square hole that the grommet snaps in to. The grommet should be toward the end of the cable and on the outside ot the operating lever for the throttle, you may have to depress the throttle lever slightly to have enough room. Then snap the new grommet into the square hole. The rounded section of throttle cable will then rest or actually snap into the new grommet. Gilly |
