Recently, we are experiencing problems with the engine temperature. The temperature seems to go up and down between 80oC and 105oC. Note that this occurs while driving in winter (winter in Australia is about 15oC), and stationary.
I have cahnged the thermostat twice and flush the radiator twice already and it still does not fix the problem. Any ideas? |
Does it bounce around or does it kinda follow what going on with the car, ie., traffic, highway driving, etc.. If not, your temp gauge sending unit is acting up I'll bet..

Good point. If this occurs while on the highway and while you hit traffic lights, this is normal.
If it is flucuating that much on the highway at high speeds, i.e., > 50 miles per hour without touching the AC, this would make me think something is up with the thermostat of something else. ------------------ '89 420 SEL '90 300 SEL '68 Olds 88 Convertible '84 300 SD (sold it) |
