change outside temp from C to F?

I have an 85 380SE and the outside air temp gage reads in C. Can this be changed to F without changing the dash LCD module? Also the Becker Grand Prix radio has a 24 hour clock, can this be changed to 12 hour mode? I checked the search. Thanks, Jim

I believe the answer to both questions is No.

Just keep a calculator in the car:

F = (9/5)C + 32

C = 5/9(F-32)

I found a coversion chart on Google and printed it out. I keep it in the door panel of my Euro SE, after a bit you start learning the scale..........

Printing out a chart seems like the best thing to do, I guess. Moving to Canada won't make me learn metrics. When I was in grade school back in the 50's I remember teachers telling me in a few years everything will be metric. I guess I wasn't the only one who didn't learn it.

Oh come now, fellers!

Almost anyone who has spent any time in Europe or in the US military in recent years finds that if you just stop trying to play with conversion formulae and let your intuitions learn what 20 degrees feels like and how long it takes to drive a kilometer, within a few DAYS it becomes as natural as the obsolete English systems with which we're still encumbered in the USA. If you stop fighting it, it'll be instinctive before you realize it, because the metric system really is more intuitive than English units. We learned metrics when I was in grade school (late '40s, early '50s) but it didn't mean anything to me, either, until I just lived it!

Well put Fimum Fit!

Another way to view the metric temperature is 0 Deg. C is the freezing point of water and 100 Deg. C is the boiling point of water.
Much easier to understand than 32 - 212 Deg. F in my opinion.

And lets not forget that in the Metric system there are no fractions!
