				towing

I bought my first MB, a 1984 300D, I am going to pick it up in a few weeks, I am going to use a tow dolly to get it home (about 600 miles) My question is, can I tow it with the drive shaft connected? can I tow it backwards? if I tow it backwards should I do anything to lock the steering wheel, Thanks guys. You can not tow your Benz with the rear wheels on the gound. You'll fry your transmission. You can not two backwards as you have no stop lights on the front of the car. If you want to use a dolly, you need to tow with the rear wheels on the ground and disconnect your driveshaft at the rear Flex-joint. No other alternative, unless you get a full trailer. jackD |
