heavy power steering?

today is mercedes day!

another little problem i've been ignoring is the weight of the power steering. ie not light at all.

i don't think there is a problem with wheel alignment as all the wheels are very evenly worn and the car steers in a straight line.

there's plenty of fluid in teh reservoir. and the car has only done 139,000 miles.

any thoughts would be most welcome.
